Exercise, Spine Docs, Beat Drugs for Neck Pain
A research study in 2012 performed at the Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota shows that seeing a chiropractor and doing simple home exercises like specific neck stretches and movement enhancers, relieves neck pain more effectively than taking pain meds like Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or even narcotics. Scientists tracked nearly 300 people to find that 60 percent of those who saw a chiropractor and 50 percent of those who did home exercises daily had a 75 percent drop in pain after three months and only 30 percent who took drugs reported the same relief. Taking any type of medication to mask or cover up the symptoms may give temporary relief if any, but at what cost to the body? Medications do have side effects and they include them in every prescription. As Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine has said, “Look to the spine for the cause of disease.” Get your spine checked by a chiropractor!
